Workspace files
The other 90% — what makes the tailoring sharp.
Jobbee tailors one resume per job and delivers it to your inbox. A resume shows maybe the top 10% of what you’ve done. The workspace files carry the other 90% — and they’re what tailoring draws on.
FILES
Docs example: Payments_Leader.md · Payments_Migrations.md
§ 01
The workspace
Where the other 90% lives.
Everything a resume never had room for goes here — the decisions, the scale, the why. This is the material every search works from.
The files
MASTER_BASE_RESUME.md — your current resume, extended: roles, dates, employers, stack, plus everything that didn’t fit on the page. No length limit.
job_applicant.md — your application profile: skills at real depth, certifications, side projects, quantified wins, things that got cut for space.
projects/*.md — project depth, one file per project; a project with more to tell gets as many companion files as it needs (the docs’ own example names them Payments_Leader.md and Payments_Migrations.md).
What belongs in a project file
Your role and tier on the project · personal contributions — what you did, not the team summary · leadership and influence · decisions and trade-offs, and the why · scale · measured outcomes · challenges, and how they resolved · stack.
The assistant
Describe the change in plain language. The assistant reads the file and proposes a full updated version. Review the line-by-line diff, then accept or reject — nothing is applied without your explicit accept. It is read-only toward your files: it reads to ground its proposals, it never writes.
The tailoring is only as sharp as the material.
§ 02
The rules
What the files do for the resume.
The resume is the summary. The workspace is the evidence it summarises — and the tailoring can only re-weight what it finds there.
A resume shows maybe the top 10% of what a person has done. The other 90% — the decisions, the scale, the why — is exactly the material that separates a resume that lists duties from one that shows ownership.
Documented in: Getting the most out of JobbeeFor every application, project depth is what tailoring draws on — it can only re-weight what’s there. Within each file, more grounded detail is strictly better. A short file starves it.
Documented in: Getting the most out of JobbeeWhat pays off most: numbers; decisions and the why behind them; things that got adopted, reused, or open-sourced; challenges and recoveries; skills at depth. Tiny details count.
Documented in: Getting the most out of JobbeeOne file per project is the intent, not a constraint: a project with more to tell gets as many companion files as it needs. No size limit on any file. Length is not the enemy; missing detail is.

Documented in: Workspace editor and AI assistantThe files are plain markdown with no proprietary format — anything written for you, elsewhere, pastes straight into the editor. Drafts save automatically as you type. Your uploaded original is preserved untouched.

The files are yours; the examples are a starting point, never a template you have to fit. Open-source examples on GitHub.

Before you decide
Put the 90% where tailoring can reach it.
That is what the workspace is for: the material a resume never had room for, ready for every search that follows.
